As the clouds of Apartheid  dissipated in South Africa, a team of professional  mental health workers arose to serve the community in Wynberg, Cape Town.  We chose the name, Lukhanyo,   a Xhosa word  describing a place where the sun rises, and symbolising the place of hope and healing  in  African tradition.
