NEW PSYCHIATRIC  CLINIC  OPENS  IN  RONDEBOSCH

Residents in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town and the adjoining  Cape Flats welcomed the  opening of  Summit Clinic,  a full-time mental health facility in Rondebosch.

LOCATION

Its location is well chosen  to serve the communities of the Southern Suburbs including Rondebosch,  Mowbray, Newlands, and bordering on the towns of Pinelands and the populous Athlone and surrounding suburbs.

In this central position the RMC is easily accessible via the major thoroughfares, the M5 as well as the national road (N2), and is further complemented  with such neighbours and historic landmarks as the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, the old Rondebosch Common and the Mowbray Golf Course.

CONGRATULATIONS

Like the many professional healthcare providers who attended the launch of the facility, Lukhanyo Clinic and its staff, commend the directors and management of RMC and Summit Clinic for their vision and compassion with so many afflicted with emotional, stress-related and other psychiatric problems, to establish a full-time facility to address their needs. Continue in next column..

CLINIC-CARE

We are particularly impressed with the therapeutic environ-ment in the Clinic, the warm and homely ambience with the colourful wall decorations and paintings, and the modern, contemporary design of the furniture and fittings.. no less than the array of  highly qualified and skilled resident staff in addition to the professional psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, OTs monitoring their patients.
Having perused the schedule of daily specialised therapies, including a life skills group, creative art, reflexology, Psycho-Social Education, etc.,  we do not doubt that the Clinic will achieve the goals it has set for itself, for the benefit of its patients.

ONE LAST OBSERVATION

The management and staff have set for themselves such a high standard of caring, which includes the daily meals a la carte, that we can only hope that they will constantly remind themselves to maintain their commitment not only to the patients and health authorities, but to themselves for as long as they serve the community.
